Government War — Deep Dive

Governor’s War (a.k.a. Gov War / Government War) is the flagship competitive season — a series of timed events on a shared map where individuals and factions accumulate points toward progression and ranking rewards. This page covers the structure and the winning prep; for the underlying point math, pair it with Event Point Efficiency.

A Governor’s War season alternates between two event types across the rounds, then ends with a display/ranking period:

  • The Strongest Leader — individual-focused scoring rounds (training, building, power, kills).
  • Faction Hegemony — faction-vs-faction map control rounds.

A typical season runs roughly five rounds of The Strongest Leader and four rounds of Faction Hegemony, followed by a ~3-day display period where final standings settle and rewards pay out. (Exact round counts and timers vary by season/server — confirm in your in-game schedule.)

Point sourceNotes
Training associatesScales hard with tier — see the point table. Unlock the highest tier you can.
Upgrading associatesConverting low→high tier is a dense point source during training stages.
Building / upgradingSave construction speedups + a ready-to-finish upgrade for building stages.
Power growthResearch, troops, and enforcer development all feed power-based scoring.
Killing enemy unitsNo cap — kills are unlimited points. This is where strong combat accounts and coordinated factions pull away.
  1. Unlock higher associate tiers. Higher tiers = more points per train and the ability to upgrade-convert. This is the biggest single prep lever.
  2. Bank both stockpiles. Construction and training speedups + resources, because stage activities are hidden until they start. See the stockpile rule.
  3. Strengthen your combat squad. Gear and grade up your core enforcers so you can farm uncapped kill points in attack stages. See Recommended Lineups.
  4. Get into an active faction before the season. Faction Hegemony rounds are won by coordination, not solo heroics — and more active participants means better shared rewards.
  5. Time your gold. Hold packs for the scoring windows so spend earns pack value and event milestones.
  • Check each new stage’s revealed activity list, then dump the matching stockpile.
  • In Faction Hegemony, follow your faction’s calls (rally targets, garrison duty, timing) — uncoordinated solo attacks feed the enemy kill points.
  • Keep your wall stationed between pushes so you aren’t farmed for points while offline. See Wall Defense.
